I want to discover more poetry related content on YouTube and help support smaller creators. I feel like a lot of poetry creators that I watch currently place way too much weight on the technical aspects of poetry and don't really talk about anything else. And while understanding the more academic aspects of the craft is extremely important, I feel that there are other things such as emotion, creativity, and aesthetic that are looked over in the community that leads to poetry being seen as less of an art form and more of a technical skill. Does anyone have any suggestions on YouTubers who are more holistic in their approach?

Hey @Sophie
Thank you for this challenge.
Because yes,it's always challenging to find a poetry channel I really like.
The funny thing is,in spite of academic focus,I love Rachel Oates channel. And Adam makes great content as well. So do you. Hell,I learn alot just by watching your channel,Sophie.
The only one I do like is the one that did help me years ago.
It is spoken word, yet when I thought of holistic, only word that pop out was holy.
Although periodically, hes one of the few poets whos appears to still be in the game today.
So check him out when you have the chance.
I really only watch Adam, Sophie, and Rachel Oates despite the fact that her following is not exactly small (although I have her to thank for leading me to Adam's channel, and now the Cove!) There were a few creators I have stumbled across who i really enjoyed, such as Emily Butler and her poetry book reviews, itsdivya and Avery Reads a Book although the latter two are not strictly poetry-related channels. Butler, like Oates and yourselves, can be quite comprehensive with her feedback and I enjoyed her insights into some of my favourite and not-so favourite works in recent years.
Not sure what to look for but I found Kaye Spivey's channel, and she seems to have interesting videos: https://www.youtube.com/c/KayeSpivey/videos
Perhaps, @The Garish Grackle @Marc Brimble @Rob Edwards @Shen Friebe @Bendy Nguyen @Rachel Glass @Suchita Senthil Kumar might want to jump in on the convo too!
I'm going to take a poke around, Soph, and I'll drop some videos/names for you when I come across someone matching your criteria. I know Rob and Garish currently have a YouTube channel for their poetry related endeavors. As for holistic poets, I haven't seen too many like Adam mentioned.
Who do you already watch? I’m actually not sure there are any to what you describe… following this thread for my own enlightenment too!
