Hello friends, you are cordially invited to the FIRST chain mail!!!!!!! The rules for this are very simple. This will start March 9th, 2022,just so the chain is finalized. If you want to participate, comment either "I'm in","I'm ready" or "Covers Rock."Because they do.Now for the rest of the rules. Each Cover will write a stanza and the chain will travel in the order that participants comment. The ones that commented one of those three phrases. The poem will be written via members chat and is finished in two ways: Every participated Cover went OR One Cover decides to break the chain. When Cover doesn't respond within 24 hours, the chain is broken and the poem is finished. The last Cover who wrote the last stanza will send that poem to the Share Your Poetry thread. BONUS TIP:Check poetry members' chat and check back to this post, just so you know who's part of the chain. So,who's in??? Any questions, ask them down below, more than happy to help.

Let your imagination flow with scenarios that a beginner poet might ask. First and foremost, just start. Don't worry too much about structure, just write what you want to write and words will come out. For performance poetry,go off the deep end.Go CRAZY.Go fast.Go slow. Just channel your crazy side and show the world that your crazy is your new genius. What about you,COVERS?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to perhaps the most difficult form to ever been produce.......HAIKUS?????Nope?????LIMERICKS?????NANA?????Okay,Shakespearan Sonnets????? They are indeed difficult, although that's not most difficult. The most difficult....DRUM ROLL PLEASE VANILLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! So what makes this so difficult??? Glad you ask, young cover. For one they actually require alot of thought. It follows an interesting rhyme scheme of: A¹ B 1² A B A¹ A B A² A B A¹ A B A² A B A¹ A² As you can see, that's alot of straight A's. Your parents be so proud of you!!!!!! Each line not only has to rhyme, but you must figure out how each line builds upon towards final stanza. You notice before last stanza, each line has a stanza of three lines. That my friend is call a tercet.Five sets of threes and last set has four. As I said each line has to have thought. Because they all follow somewhat of structure.Think of stories or those self help videos you seen online and Vanille operates kind of same way.Except they all have to rhyme, with scheme I just mention. Dr:So Seuss Jr,want to try a Vanille??? Student:How do I know if its for me???🙁 If you are a season rhymer(just like yours truly) and you want to give this a shot,go for it!!!!!!!!!!!No harm in changing up with tradition. I always recommend following a poetic structure,as this respects the form the poet creates.Otherwise, have at it,season rhymers. If you like to challenge yourself,go for it!!!!!! There's no failure, only feedback. And you are as great as your last work of art. The best thing to do is just get started and see what happens. What if my first Vanille SUCKS??? Then you gather data. In otherwards, your only going to be better by test, learn, grow, repeat. Working, failing and gathering feedback is better than thinking, wonder and not starting, true??? That's all for today young Cover. If you like to learn more about poems and how they're written, then come onboard to..... POETRY SATURDAY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! At the Poetry Cove Academy. Where every Saturday, you get to learn from Social Media Influencer and Working Poet, ADAM GARY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can say, after spending time at Poetry Cove Saturday School,my passion been renew, confidence been strengthen to be working poet, and my poetry pencil has been sharpen, ready for WAR!!!!!!!!! Now friends, come onboard Poetry Cove Saturday School, and more information via link right here. Until then happy writing!!!!!!!!!!

This post was inspired by @Chris Scott What can I say,you been very inspiring Cover last and this week. I have done many poetry forms(Shakespearan Sonnets,Haikus,Limericks,Tankas, long narrative/epic poems)and other forms i will say not right now. I think one poetry form i would like to commit to is Vanille Poem. Mainly because I heard it's the hardest form to do. And thanks to insert Cover name,I actually did my first Vanille. And in the summer I did commit to haikus for a while, along with different version of a haiku,I'm very looking forward to commit next 90 days of writing strictly Vanilles!!!!! So Covers, any poetry forms your committing?

This post was influence by @Chris Scott and his wonderful post from last week. We poets are an eclectic group, aren't we? The flavor of poetry will varie, and after personal experience,I can say we all have one thing in common. What is that thing? Comment below if you think you know the answer to this The poems that influence us is the poetry we end up writing. And songs can also have the same impact.I love to think the work we produce is every cliché you can think of. And alot comes from the counsel we listen to, the stories we believe and beliefs that shape our reality.Theres a reason why influencer have the status they do.Along with people we follow.Simply put, their ways of being are relatable.Okay cool, what the HELL does this have to do with poetry????? You see friend,if you like to write poetry that speaks to you, look at your influences. Specifically social media, but off social media works well.In fact, certain types of poetry have their own influence base on time period they were created. Which is why I always recommend to be traditional first and then recreate later,so you can get the structure first and then break the rules if may. Make sure influence is authentic to what your going through,as what's going on currently, makes poem not only real but in the future,as the case with MANY mediums, someone will find your work and think WHOA,This person gets me!!!!!!!! - Insert future fan!!!!! Be brave,be bold, and as long as nobody gets hurt, use your words responsibility,my friends. Let poetry speak to one's soul and remember, your not the next -insert poet. Your the next original. Have an awesome rest of your week,COVERS!!!!!!!!!!

Hello lovely Covers Want to thank @nicki for inspiration. Hope you all have a lovely Saturday so far. As you can see the title, once again, its about editing, however, more about what I learn throughout my studies. Biggest takeaway is to be more cognizant on how the reader reads the poem out loud. I do fall into trap of writing for performance. Actually, poems are made to be read out loud. However,if it's for a publish work,a poem in public domain has to be kept with reader in mind.Unless your doing a poetry series that involves a deadline(I have a title in mind that I won't say),keep the reader in mind. Also, just because it makes sense to you, doesn't mean it will makes sense to the reader. Now,if there are five readers telling you the same thing, make note of it and go back to drawing board. As you do have the final say in what goes into finish product after all. Finally, editing makes you a professional. Don't get me wrong, insta poetry and blank statements do have a place. But how often do we read our work with our own perception and think what we created was marvelous? However, when people read our work, they're confuse?Have we been only publishing works by just a first draft? Maybe. However, this all depends on what kind of poet you want to become. An insta poet with first drafts or professional poet with three drafts?Could be vise versa as well,as this comes down to poet. They both have their place,so go on a camping trip either challenging or enjoyment. Now I must take a step down and go back to the future. Side note:Brokeback Mountain, Jonah Hex,Aliens vs. Cowboys,Back to the Future part 3,what's up with me and Western films lately???

I want to thank @Rob Edwards for inspiring this post. So when it comes to performance, the main problem I found artist have a hard time with is letting go during performance. What I found from my own experience is there are three problems that are going on.Also,I have provided solutions that you can apply right now.So here are three mistakes, and how to solve them. Attachment: One is attached to their work because its theirs.Understandable, since no one understands us more than us,right?Issue comes when you worry about anything really. For sake of example, peoples approval. And your worry about how they perceive your work to be.One way to balance this is practice art of detachment. When your fully detach, work is no longer yours to control. Its yours to play.Your work is your world.Detach by observing your work, and know people will cherish you,as long as you don't take anything personally. Pride:Were very prideful of our work. And makes sense, after all we created them.Believe in your work, yet don't let it consume you.I remember my last performance, long story short,I was imagining every cool detail possible.I was in theatre two years prior. And what I never realized at the time, was how I set myself up for failure. And I was the kind of guy that would literally re write the same piece until day of showtime.Yes,be proud of your work, just don't let it consume you.You do this by humbling yourself. This is an opportunity to let your soul speak. And when you remain humble, without settling you become grateful. With that, trust the journey your on. When you let go of pride, burden is lifted and load feels lighter.Mainly because your not your creation.Your the creator of all your creations. Preparation:Honestly, more you prepare for literally anything you want to do,more calm you are.Imagine an actor going into an audition, being shit scare. What could have happen?Maybe their morning routine was off, forgotten tools they learn, don't know their lines, they haven't read affirmations,Husky ran over their homework. Then second actor who does all those things,AND does everything they needed to stay focus, calm, relax.Who would the Casting Director hire and why?If you chose the answer, isn't it the same as performing poetry? However,do it as a level see saw.Too high, over prepare, could result in stress, and if you cannot handle stress, then don't over prepare.Otherwise, you'll over think.Lack of preparation goes back to the example. Not only stress, but over whelm, not breathing, talking very very fast.In otherwards, just right being you did all you could. So apply any generic self advice you probably heard on the internet. You don't need me to tell you what to apply, since you know you more than I know you. Now,what if your just doing this for fun?Same rules apply. If your attach and prideful to your work, and don't prepare, how would your performance be?This comes down to the poet, for me,because my desire career path is being an actor, and spoken word artist,I take it seriously. However, because this is fun for me,I enjoy myself alot more by the things I mention. I care about my work, but it doesn't define being human, just enhances me as a human being. And as long as I prepare, remain humble,I'm cool. And ready to let my soul dance by speaking the words I've long search for.
