What is your one, non-negotiable rule that you have with all your work? It's harder than it looks but I'd love to know form some of my favourite Covers and new writers what springs to mind when they reflect on this? What do all your pieces of work have in common, because you as a writer have decided it is a rule you have to follow.

From reading a lot of your work, makes sense to me, and you definitely achieve that.
Hey Rich! I ensure that I've put effort into each poem I write. This varies based on the type of poem it is but generally speaking, I don't want my poems to appear as if they only took me 10 seconds to write; some people might have that gift, but not me :P Also generally speaking, I like my poems to be multi-layered or at least contain some double-speak to illuminate more of the meaning of the poem.
How about yourself?
great question. I suppose it would be to not come off as pretentious, try to be true to myself.
Wow! This is an awesome thread and really hard to think about! I like to think that my poetry is 'followable'? I want to keep my poetry accessible to everyone, whilst also adding a layer of strong metaphor for those who enjoy deciphering the more intricate side of things? I don't know if that makes sense?
