Welcome to the prompt section for this year's GloPoWriMo!
Here you will find a prompt for each day of the month (or at least as best as I can). If you come up with any prompts yourself, please feel free to share them also. The more prompts we have the more food for thought there is!
If you've written a poem inspired by one of our prompts we would love for you to share it in the poetry section here: https://www.thepoetrycove.com/forum/glopowrimo-2024/share-your-glopowrimo-2024-poems
Day 30 Prompt: "Full Circle"
Reflect on the feeling of completing a significant chapter in your life. Whether it's the end of a long project, the conclusion of a life event, or simply the feeling of accomplishing a personal goal, explore the emotions and reflections that accompany these moments of completion.
Write a poem that captures the essence of coming full circle. Consider the journey that led to this point—the struggles, the triumphs, and the growth along the way. What does it feel like to stand at the end of this path, looking back on what you've achieved and forward to what comes next?
You can draw inspiration from your personal experiences, such as finishing a creative project, graduating, retiring, or completing a significant personal challenge. Alternatively, you can imagine a fictional scenario or draw on historical or mythological stories of quests and accomplishments.
Use imagery that evokes a sense of closure and fulfillment. Consider incorporating motifs of circles, cycles, or seasons to symbolize the completion and renewal that often accompany such endings.
Your poem can be a celebratory note, a reflective ode, or a contemplative piece about the significance of ending one chapter and beginning another. This could also be a perfect moment to reflect on your journey through NaPoWriMo itself, weaving in how the daily discipline of writing has shaped you.
Happy writing! May this prompt inspire you to celebrate your accomplishments and the journey that brought you to them, closing this month of poetry with a sense of fulfilment and achievement.
