Haha maybe this subconsciously inspired the stream last night. I’ve just sat down to read this, but must have seen a notification for it when you originally posted it. I’m sorry!

Absolutely right! Sometimes I get the title first and then write a poem based on that, or it’s a favourite line of mine within the poem I myself.

Oh this is interesting! I’ve never thought about title revisions… EVER. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

This is very well put! I love this Mark, you’re absolutely right. A mini class in poetry titles hehe.

I always find having the title within the poem holds great power!

What a well thought out post, Herb! I am very much intrigued by the Mist sequence and would love to read them all together! I always describe poems as treasure hunts, and we need to break them down and find the golden nuggets. But I also like the thread of mystery analogy!

I was in the poetry thread and saw that I had forgotten to post a prompt yesterday, if anyone fancies going out with a bang on the last day and writing TWO poems today, here’s the prompt I had for yesterday! Day 29 "Recipe for a Day" Write a poem in the form of a recipe using ingredients from your current day—coffee, conversation, silence, traffic, etc.

DAY 30 (FINAL DAY!!!!) "April Exit" Look back at this month. What surprised you? Moved you? Write a farewell poem to April using 3 lines from poems you wrote this month.

Day 28 "Today’s Texture" Feel the texture of your clothes, skin, or something nearby. Use sensory language to build a textured poem.

DAY 0027-01-01T00:00:00.000Z "5-Minute Free Write" Set a timer for 5 minutes. Write non-stop. No editing. Then, shape that raw writing into a polished poem.

Might be 10 mins late to the zoom hangout tonight folks, been trying to recover from flu and only just now making dinner and walking Harry etc…
