Going to start getting into structures more often. I feel like structure can really help with choosing what you want to right about. Especially when it comes political opinions! Wish me luck! 😊

I really want to start a discussion over this topic. I think it is quite important for men like myself. I want to start this discussion with a fact about me. I have been writing from a woman's perspective for a long time now. It has come down to being the only way I write most of the time. I have been thinking on why I do. To confess, I flip the perspectives because I find it easier to talk about myself as if I were another person. I have created a character, a woman, in which I relate to. Poetry is a new found love of mine and I have been through a lot of character development the past three years that I think plays a big part in this. Also going to state that almost all who have inspired me, took care of me, and taught me things about life have been women- growing up with 3 sisters and a single mother. Is there any advice on men writing women or from their Perspective? There is a lot of advice on the internet about cliches in novels, but what about poetry? There is not one video over this. I want to speak on women issues in which I have seen and been apart of through out my life. I stand with women whole heartedly and I can't help but write about what i see and the struggles. I want to create this character that goes through all the levels that I understand. Of course without speaking of ones I do not. Not only would I love some advice, but for Women Covers to express how they feel of this topic. What do most authors miss about a woman's life? What are some do's and don't-s? I really want to dig deep on this!

How can a collection avoid being a "journal"? I have heard many mention the experience of some poetry books can be too much like a journal. Is there a more specific explanation of that experience? Can it be avoided with techniques? What techniques are to be Avoided.

I was working on my uncle and I's 30 acre orchard which is his big vision of a safe place to escape the cities. Escaping the chaos of doing film/plays in Hollywood. He works with so many artist you wouldn't believe! Some being poets to my surprise. After a long day of work we would sit and drink a few; chatting about all the arts. He would let me express my new found love for poetry. Reading him all my pieces and he would give me advice. The one that really, really stuck with me was when he told me he had a friend who was a poet in which she said, "Don't be afraid of speaking your language" and "Of course you will write about moments that have been wrote about before, but it hasn't been written by you". He let that sit with me all evening. I think it means to value your own perspective and to believe in yourself. Write for yourself and nobody else. Some will get it and some won't. Be the environment you've been in and don't apologize for it. We can't sacrifice the value of our feelings and what we see for the sake of all audiences. What do you all think? I would love to hear all of your thoughts.

I am almost done with my work and I don't see it being any longer than 100 pages. I honestly did not want it to reach past 50. Only because I want to add a surprise in the ending. I am very confident in my upcoming piece. It will be all my very best work chosen from throughout this year. It will still involve a fluent story. I am on the edge constantly trying to play the cards right. I can't wait to share in the future. What are your opinions on small collections? Are there cards to be played right?

What fonts do you enjoy seeing? Are typewriter fonts ideal or can I explore?

I am very blessed to be family with an amazing sketch artist. Realistic sketches I should add. We have recently joined together to see how well our creations compliment each other. So far I love the way it's turning out! Being new to writing I have been wondering what you guys enjoy. Is art in collections distracting? Is the thought of two arts on one page be considered competitive in the eyes of the reader? what are your thoughts on the modern "quick" "scribble" sketches-- Rupi for an example. Would using art throw your work under the "insta" poet tree? I am a free verse, lyrical, story poet, but I would love to know everyone's thoughts on this subject! 😊
